Of all the residential real estate designations offered through the National Association of REALTORS®, the Graduate, REALTOR® Institute (GRI) is the most comprehensive, providing a broader scope and depth of training.

Why I chose this designation

The National Association of Realtors states that the GRI designation is recognized nationwide as the gold standard for real estate educational achievement.  As a realtor with a dozen different designations and certifications, I have to agree. There are 14 eight-hour classes that cover a vast range of topics and skills.  The GRI also requires prerequisites like getting the training and designations in other categories like the Seller Representative Specialist (SRS). All in, I have over 150 hours of specialized training that went into fulfilling the requirements.  Thanks to the GRI training, when customers have questions, I have answers, or at the very least, have a resource to get the answer for their questions. There are many things that are standard to every transaction.  Of course, those are commonplace and easy to deal with. The GRI class taught me the small things that might only come up once every couple of years so that it isn’t a surprise when one of these situations happens.
